 Objective/Rationale:
Pakistan is heir to rich artistic, intellectual and literary traditions which ironically find no place in its educational institutions. The reason being that for the most part we neither understand the deeper principles of tradition, nor modernity.

Tradition is seen as a source of faith and values with no practical utility. Hence, the mind is not engaged with its intellectual side. Modernity is seen only with respect to its end products, with no understanding of its deeper philosophical and epistemological foundations.

This course aims to offer a glimpse into the worldview which tradition offers; opening the door to looking at creation as something meaningful and the traditional arts, culture and literature as windows to deepening and cultivating our spiritual, intellectual and artisitic potential.
